ACCOMPLISHMENT HIGHLIGHTS

Since our founding in June 2024 we’ve done 5,887 surgeries to date. So far in 2026 we’ve done 2,190 surgeries and we have many more to go.

MEMBER OF PRO-ANIMAL COMITÉ

As one of just three NGOs on Mulegé’s Pro Animal Committee, we hold a seat at the table in Mexico’s largest municipality, driving meaningful change for animals at the highest local level.

FIRST ANIMAL RIGHTS CONFERENCE PRESENTER

We made history as presenters at the first-ever animal rights conference held in the municipality of Mulegé, helping to spark a new conversation about animal welfare in our region.

STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT PARTNERSHIP

We’ve partnered directly with the Secretaria de Salud on Spay and neuter clinics- an exceptional collaboration that breaks barriers between public health and NGOs.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL ALLIANCES

With direct backing from the presidents of Mulegé, Loreto and Comondú municipalities, alongside mayors, congressional members, council people and more, our initiative is embraced at every local leadership level.

ICAM SPOTLIGHT

As a standout model on World Spay Day, we were spotlighted by ICAM (International Companion Animal Management Coalition), a leading global authority on spay-and-neuter, showcasing the exceptional caliber of our work.

RECIPIENT OF OCEAN FOUNDATION GRANT

We received an $8,000 grant from The Ocean Foundation, which enabled us to perform over 200 spay-and-neuter procedures in Loreto- directly impacting the community.

IDEA TO INCEPTION

From concept to reality, we launched the Ultra-Mobile clinic in just 6 short months. Since November 2025, we’ve completed 2,800 sterilizations (averaging 700 surgeries monthly) - an incredible pace of impact.

EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM CREATION

We created a coloring book for 4 to 7 year olds, helping them learn how to care for their pets in a fun and engaging way. We are currently in development for a book geared towards 8-12 year olds, with the intention of having it shared in classrooms statewide.

STATE DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM SUPPORT

We’ve secured direct support from the Baja California Sur State Department of Tourism, demonstrating the wide-reaching trust and recognition our work has earned across sectors.

A Life-Changing Weekend in Baja, Mexico

By Deanna Lyn-Piwowarczyk

This past weekend, I had the privilege of volunteering with Baja Mobile SteriVet (BMSV) in Loreto, Mexico. Gabriella Morrison and her incredible team have made a tremendous impact on the lives of Baja’s street animals, organizing high-volume spay and neuter clinics to provide free veterinary care to families who otherwise lack access.

At the clinic, I worked in Recovery, assisting dogs and cats as they awoke from anesthesia. It was humbling and heartwarming to be part of this effort—from monitoring their vital signs to comforting them as they regained consciousness. My first dog, I called Quince, as she was #15 in the surgical queue. A medium-sized black and white mutt, she seemed quite content under anesthesia, taking an hour and 40 minutes before she was safely awake and could be returned to her family. During my time with Quince, I was also entrusted with an emaciated pup who had clearly recently given birth (later, I learned to 12 puppies). She recovered remarkably quickly, in less than 30 minutes, while surrounded by her owners—a young mother and her two sons who watched over her lovingly.

My final pup before the end of my volunteer shift was a young female named Laga, a stunning Belgian Malinois who reminded me of my own dog, Cousteau. Her owner, a local farmer, paced nearby with visible concern as I worked to bring her safely out of anesthesia. Handing Laga back to him was an unforgettable moment. The pride and gratitude on his face spoke volumes about the bond he shared with his dog and the impact of the care provided by this incredible group of volunteers. Moments like these are hard to capture in words, but they’ll forever remain etched in my memory.

As for Baja Mobile SteriVet, their mission is to spay and neuter as many Baja dogs and cats as possible, while inspiring and educating people on the importance of these procedures. By bringing high-quality surgical teams and equipment into underserved communities, they are making a tangible difference. Their goals for 2025 are ambitious: to triple the number of surgeries performed in their first year, expand partnerships with government campaigns, finalize their Mexican non-profit status, and quadruple their donations to scale their impact even further.
