MAJOR GIVING & LEGACY

Major gifts make it possible to do more than respond to crisis—they make it possible to solve the dog & cat overpopulation problem permanently here in BCS.

Through sustained, strategic philanthropy, overpopulation can be reduced to a manageable, preventable condition that does not return.

BECOME A PART OF HISTORY

A Lasting Impact With a Clear Finish Line

Ending animal overpopulation requires reaching and maintaining a proven sterilization threshold across entire communities. This level of impact cannot be achieved through small, isolated efforts alone.

Major gifts allow us to:

  • Scale spay and neuter capacity across municipalities
  • Coordinate existing organizations, veterinarians, and government programs
  • Sustain prevention long enough to permanently reset population dynamics

This is how lasting systems change is created.

LEGACY GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Significant philanthropic support may be recognized through legacy and naming opportunities that reflect completion, not dependence.

Opportunities may include:

  • Founding Underwriter of a five-year population stabilization initiative
  • Naming of a mobile spay/neuter unit or regional program
  • Recognition in impact reports and public-facing materials

Legacy recognition is associated with ending a regional crisis—not managing it indefinitely.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

With sustained major-gift support:

  • Puppy and kitten seasons are dramatically reduced
  • Shelter and rescue intake declines
  • Communities shift from emergency response to prevention
  • Animal welfare systems become sustainable long-term

The result is a future where overpopulation no longer defines animal welfare in Baja California Sur.
